I know its a standard feature of US military bases. Still I love the incongruity of it.
Secret base, middle of nowhere, what does one do with free time? Do they have a league? Is it social or serious?

Maybe it's also to do with the 'build it and they will come' attitude from Field of Dreams....
If the aliens see a baseball diamond from their space-ship, they won't be able to resist...... Aliens LOVE the baseball.....
I think the H might be a helipad, or just a coincidental arrangement of concrete.
